‘Chili Finger Lady’ Back To Prison: California Woman Who Planted Severed Finger In Wendy’s Chili Bowl Lied To Police About Son Getting Shot By Two Men

The California woman who was sentenced to four years in prison for planting a severed finger in her bowl of Wendy's chili is going back to the roughhouse - she lied to police about her son, who shot himself in the leg while on parole, and said two other men shot him so he could avoid felony charges for illegal possession of a weapon.

Anna Ayala, 47, tried to sue the fast food chain for millions in 2005 as part of a scam, but immediately lost her case and ended up in prison. Following the attempted swindle, Ayala was dubbed the "chili finger lady" by the media.

But this time around, both Ayala and her son tried to scam police.

Ayala's son, 26-year-old Guadalupe "Junior" Reyes, joined his mother in telling officials that two men, including someone they didn't like, shot him out of retribution, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

After conducting multiple investigations after the October 21st incident, police determined that Ayala and her son were lying about the entire occurrence.

Reyes will also get two years in state prison when both the mother and son are formally sentenced in September, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

He was on parole for a felony burglary conviction at the time of the shooting in Alviso and subsequent lies, the newspaper also reports.

During Ayala's prosecution in 2005, Reyes convinced police officials that he was lying and subsequently aided in his mother's arrest because of his weak testamony claiming her innocence.
