BlackBerry Z10 Soon To Take a Backseat To The New All-Touch Screen A10

BlackBerry's next smartphone to launch near the holidays will be the all-touchscreen BlackBerry A10, according to CNET.

The BlackBerry A10 will be the highest tier option, moving the Z10 and Q10 to midtier. The Q5 will stay at the lower and more affordable market.

BlackBerry is rapidly spreading its product line to appeal to consumers with various income levels.

With the A10, the company hopes to keep up with competitors like the iPhone and Samsung.

Sprint Nextel is backing the BlackBerry A10 and planning to release the phone in November. This is not an exclusive agreement, so other carriers like At&T and Verizon, which both carry the Z10 and Q10, are likely to particapate. Sprint actually skipped the Z10 because the A10 was worth the wait.

In a March interview with CNET, BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins hinted at the new phone when he said, "There's one new product I'm excited about, but I can't really share it."

The company could've outted the A10 last month at the BlackBerry Live conference but held back to keep shine on the Q10, which will be launched in several days by T-Mobile and other carriers.

The flagship A10 has been refered to as code-name Aristo. The A1 will likely have an updated operating system and specifications, and a high-quality design and build.

Sprint doesn't currently have the device listed as a top-tier option for the holidays, but its coming release is still a possiblity.
