About K-pop Girl Group NeonPunch

NeonPunch is the first girl group to debut under A100 Entertainment. The members were introduced through a teaser for their pre-debut reality show in October 2017 - and they were Hajeong, Dayeon, Iaan, Baekah and Arang. However, the final lineup was changed in April 2018 and they were three original members (Dayeon, Baekah, and Iaan) and two new members May and Terry.

NeonPunch then debuted in June 2018 with their first single album "Moonlight." In January 2019, Dohee was added as a new member after Terry permanently left the group due to health reasons. The quintet made their first comeback in the same month with their second mini-album "Watch Out."

Throughout their career, NeonPunch only managed to release two mini-albums as they officially disbanded in August 2020.

Why Did NeonPunch Disband?

In August 2020, A100 Entertainment announced that NeonPunch had disbanded. This is partly because the company experienced financial hardships caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Fortunately, Baekah, Iaan and Dayeon, were announced to re-debut together as the trio called XUM. They debuted in September 2020 with their first single album "Ddalla" but they eventually disbanded in June this year because of unknown reasons.

Meanwhile, the future activities of Dohee and May, who suspended their activities in April 2020 due to personal reason and study, are still unknown.

As mentioned above, Dayeon re-debuted in XUM after NeonPunch's disbandment. XUM stands for "Xumething Unlimited Move" and means "infinite movement." She served as the leader and main vocalist of the trio while they were still active.
