Red Velvet finally graced the stage as a whole group at the 2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon! Aside from their incredible performances, Wendy particularly drew attention following her appearance at the same music festival where she met a stage accident two years ago.

On the afternoon of the 25th, the 2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon (Music Festival) was held at Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon. Among the artists that set the stage on fire, Red Velvet and Wendy became a hot topic after their appearance.

After being canceled last year due to the coronavirus, SBS Gayo Daejeon finally held its annual year-end music festival online and offline, which was decorated by various artists from the K-pop scene.

Red Velvet, a girl group comprised of Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy and Yeri especially became one of the main attractions and were praised for being "angels without wings."

In context, two years ago, in 2019, the group's main vocalist Wendy had a stage accident while rehearsing for their"Psycho" stage at the same festival.

Eventually, Wendy had to be hospitalized for a long time; which resulted in Red Velvet's temporary hiatus and performance as a group.

Nevertheless, SBS hurt Red Velvet and fans twice with absurd apologies.

"We sincerely apologize to fans and viewers that Red Velvet will not be able to be on the live stage of 'Gayo Daejeon'. We will pay special attention to the safety management of the cast in the future," SBS said but did not provide a clear answer to the circumstances of the accident or follow-up.

As a response, internet users are certain that considering Red Velvet's point of view, the group and Wendy will declare their absence from the year-end festival throughout the rest of their entertainment activities.

Despite everything, Red Velvet still decided to attend the event not for SBS, but for their fans (Reveluvs) who waited patiently for their return as a group.

During the event, Wendy appeared as the first runner on the opening stage of "All I Want for Christmas Is You," in which all the cast members participated. Other Red Velvet members also performed solo and unit performances along with other idols that heated SBS Gayo Daejeon's stage.

The girl group also filled the event with their charms as they gifted fans with a stage of their hit comeback track, "Queendom."

Although fans were happy, there is still regret and disappointment from fans who anticipated the first full group performance of their song craze, "Pyscho" in 2019 which is supposedly set to be shown at the event.

However, due to the accident which was caused by the negligence of the broadcasting channel, the hopes of K-pop enthusiasts were "shattered."

As a result, some internet users expressed disappointment to the performance of Red Velvet and the appearance of Wendy, saying, "Wouldn't it have been a more perfect picture if "Gayo Daejeon," the one who took away the precious opportunity from Red Velvet and fans, had returned the entire "Psycho" stage?"

In addition, some also said, "Since Red Velvet suffered more damage in the past years, isn't it more meaningful if at least two songs or even a mash-up stage had been given to them?"
