Who are the most popular foreign K-pop idols among fans? In a survey conducted by Forbes Korea, SEVENTEEN Jun, Dreamcatcher Handong, BLACKPINK Rosé, GOT7 Jackson and more top respective categories. Keep reading to see the full list!

On the 30th, Forbes Korea announced the rankings for "Best K-pop Idol from Abroad" held through Idol Champ.

The voting period lasted for 15 days which started from November 26 to December 10, and as a result, a total of 146,380 K-pop fans participated in the survey.

After a tough battle, the Chinese-born SEVENTEEN member Jun won the finals with 45,881 votes.

In particular, Jun debuted in the 13-member group SEVENTEEN in 2015 under the performance team. The sub-vocalist who grew up in China initially dreamed of becoming an actor but after coming to Korea, Jun eventually enjoyed dancing and singing, then decided to debut as an idol.

Jackson (News1)

Along with him, GOT7 Jackson, a Hong Kong-born K-pop idol and rapper followed in second place while Japanese K-pop idol ONF Yuto or also known as U entered at No. 3.

Meanwhile, Dreamcatcher Handong who is also a Chinese K-pop idol dominated as the most popular foreign idol among female stars. Handong received 14,079 votes and won after gaining 44.61% of the 31,558 votes.

In particular, the female idol debuted in 2017 as the only foreign member of Dreamcatcher. She initially came to Korea to study as a musical actor, but she eventually became an idol at the recommendation of her university professor.

Following Handong, BLACKPINK's Rosé who was born and raised in New Zealand came in second, while TWICE's Sana, a Japanese idol ranked third.

As it was a vote to select idols from overseas, the participation rate of overseas fans was higher than ever in this vote. In the men's category, a total of 103 countries voted, of which Indonesia recorded a total of 23,284 votes. It was followed by Japan (16,350 votes), the Philippines (12,950 votes), and Thailand (11,786 votes).

In the women's sector, a total of 87 countries voted, with the largest number of votes (6087 votes). It was followed by the Philippines (4465 votes), Vietnam (3030 votes), Malaysia (2250 votes), and Korea (1617 votes).
