BTS Becomes the First Foreign Artist in Over 17 Years to Surpass 1 Million Sales in Oricon with 'BEST, THE BEST'

According to the latest Weekly Album Ranking chart dated for the week of January 10 and released by Japan's Oricon Charts on January 6 local time, global superstars BTS and their Japanese compilation album "BTS, THE BEST" had sold more than 3,000 album copies during the counting period between December 27, 2021, to January 2, 2022.

With this, the cumulative sales for "BTS, THE BEST" have hit more than one million album copies sold since its release back in June 2021.

This also makes BTS the 14th foreign artist in Japan to achieve more than a million sales in Oricon history and its Weekly Album ranking.

Not only that, but BTS is also the first foreign artist in more than 37 years to top Oricon's Annual Album ranking at No. 1, with the last foreign artist to do so being Michael Jackson with his album "Thriller" back in 1984.

Meanwhile, "BTS, THE BEST" is an album that features the 23 singles and lead tracks that BTS has released in Japan for the past four years since 2017, including their Japanese tracks "Your Eyes Tell," "Don't Leave Me," "Crystal Snow," "Stay Gold," "Film Out," and more.

In particular, "Film Out" also topped Oricon's Weekly Streaming chart, as well as record the shortest amount of time to reach 400 million streams.
