TXT, TWICE, aespa and More: Gaon Chart Releases the Batch of Artists Whose Albums and Songs Have Been Certified in January 2022

On Jan. 6, Gaon Chart unveiled a new list of albums and songs that have been certified this month in album sales, download and streaming. Keep on reading to know which K-pop releases earned new certifications.

Albums of TXT, TWICE, The Boyz and More Get Certified on Gaon Chart in January 2022

First, in Gaon's album sales category, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) received a triple-platinum certification for their "The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE" after selling 750,000 copies since its release in August 2021. The album has recorded over 770,000 sales so far.

"The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE" is TXT's only second album to be certified triple platinum on Gaon, following their second studio album "The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE."

Next, TWICE's "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" and The Boyz's "MAVERICK" have been certified double platinum on Gaon after surpassing 500,000 album sales each. Notably, both "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" and "MAVERICK" debuted on Gaon's monthly album chart for November 2021 with over 600,000 copies sold. These two albums become the best-selling works of the respective idol groups.

To date, TWICE's "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" has surpassed 800,000 copies sold on Gaon, while The Boyz's "MAVERICK" has exceeded 640,000 sales.

In total, TWICE has four albums to be certified double platinum on Gaon including "Formula of Love: O+T=<3." The Boyz, meanwhile, now has two total albums with double-platinum certifications (the other one is "THRILL-ING").

Finally, MONSTA X's "NO LIMIT" has been certified platinum this month after exceeding 250,000 sales. As of writing, the album has more than 430,000 copies sold on Gaon.

"NO LIMIT" becomes the boy group's seventh album to attain platinum certification.

BTS and aespa's Songs Get Certified in Gaon's Streaming Category in January 2022

Next, in Gaon's streaming category, only two K-pop songs received new certifications. One of those is BTS's "Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat) (BTS Remix)," which was released back in 2020.

According to Gaon, BTS's "Savage Love" remix version has surpassed 100 million streams, making it certified platinum. This becomes the septet's fifth song to earn a streaming certification and their third song to receive a platinum title.

The second song on the list is aespa's "Next Level," which also received a platinum certification.

"Next Level" becomes the rookie girl group's only second work to be certified on Gaon, following their first mini-album "Savage" which previously obtained a double-platinum certification for selling over 500,000 copies.

N.Flying's 'Rooftop' is the Only Song to Be Certified in Gaon's Download Category in January 2022

Lastly, in Gaon's download category, only one track received certification and it is N.Flying's "Rooftop." It was certified platinum after crossing 2.5 million downloads on domestic music platforms.

"Rooftop" was released back in January 2019 as the second installment of N.Flying's "Fly High Project." This track is the band's first music release as a four-member group after Kwangjin left in December 2018 due to accusations of inappropriate behavior online.

Moreover, "Rooftop" becomes N.Flying's very first song to be certified in Gaon's download category. This track is also their first release to receive a platinum certification for streaming back in November 2019.
