On Jan. 15 at midnight KST, fromis_9 revealed the first music video teaser for the title song "DM" of their upcoming fourth mini-album "Midnight Guest."

The "DM" MV teaser quickly received criticism for its resemblance to TWICE's "The Feels" in a few aspects. First, the instrumental of the track is said to sound like "The Feels."

For starters, TWICE's "The Feels" was written and produced by collapsedone, who also worked on fromis_9's "DM."

Another "similarity" spotted is the invitation card in fromis_9's "DM" MV teaser. This invitation card is said to have the same color scheme as the invitation card seen in TWICE's "The Feels" MV. It was also pointed out that a scrapbook can be seen in both music videos.

Finally, fromis_9's "DM" has the line "I got the feels for you, yeah," which is like the line "I know I get the feels" from TWICE's "The Feels."

Because of these "resemblances," some fans of TWICE are expressing their disappointment toward the production team that worked on fromis_9's upcoming title track.

On Twitter, fans of TWICE and fromis_9 are arguing about the matter. Some stated that if the songs were made by the same songwriter and producer, similarities in the instrumental and lyrics are inevitable, while others said that the tracks don't sound similar to each other.

On the other hand, some fans raised their concerns that fromis_9's concepts in their previous comebacks are the same as TWICE's, including the group concept photo for TWICE's "Eyes Wide Open," which looks the same as fromis_9's "9 Way Ticket."

As of writing, Pledis Entertainment has not released an official statement to address the issue.

fromis_9 to Release "DM" MV and Fourth Mini-Album "Midnight Guest" Today

In related news, fromis_9's fourth mini-album "Midnight Guest," which features the title track "DM," is scheduled for release today, Jan. 7, later at 6 p.m. KST.

"Midnight Guest" comes after the group's special single album "Talk & Talk," which was released in September of last year. The album contains a total of five new songs and based on the teaser images and videos revealed in the past weeks, the lead single "DM" is an upbeat song.

"Midnight Guest" is fromis_9's most pre-ordered album to date. The album recorded over 120,000 pre-orders four days before its official release. The pre-order count was calculated within two weeks.

Previously, it was announced that "Midnight Guest" achieved over 80,000 copies within just five days of the pre-order period. This was already their highest pre-order count.

If the pre-order number will turn into physical sales, fromis_9 will triple their previous first-week sales on the Hanteo Chart with "9 Way Ticket," which sold over 37,000 copies.
