EDAM Entertainment Files Complaints Against Malicious Commenters Against IU
EDAM Entertainment, the agency, has again revealed that it is taking strict measures against malicious posts directed at IU.
On January 21, EDAM Entertainment released an official statement saying, "We monitor malicious posts such as defamation, personal attacks, insults, dissemination of false information, malicious slander, and invasion of privacy. We thoroughly reviewed the report and fully recognized the seriousness of the malicious post, and based on the new evidence we have collected, we have submitted several complaints to the investigative agency through the law firm Shinwon."

The agency added, "Recognizing that the malicious acts are getting worse as time goes by, we have been paying close attention to collecting evidence for some perpetrators who have recently spread baseless rumors and repeatedly posted malicious posts with non-login IPs."
"Through these materials, we secured posts made with non-login accounts and telecommunication company IP addresses, including nicknames used so far, and delivered them to the investigative agencies. We are monitoring private cafes, communities, and social media, including DC Inside. We are collecting the posts and records they deleted, and filing a lawsuit against it."
In particular, the agency declared that there was a part where a lot of perpetrators were called and investigated because of slander and malicious comments. The agency plans on taking a legal action without leniency.
Another perpetrator, who was also charged with the damage, was handed over to trial under the prosecution, and a sentence will be given after the trial.
IU Conquers Music Charts with 'Winter Sleep'
Singer-actress IU has again conquered the streaming charts with her latest release, "Winter Sleep," from her album "Pieces," released just two months after topping the charts with her digital single, "Strawberry Moon."
"Winter Sleep," the lead single from IU's new EP "Pieces" that was released on Dec. 29, entered the top of the major Korean music streaming platforms Melon, Genie, and Bugs' real-time charts as of January 17. IU says that "Winter Sleep" is a piano-driven song, in which she shares about the feeling of loss that hits people whenever a loved one passes away.
Aside from that, four other tracks included in the EP are also performing strongly on the music charts, with "Drama" and "Next Stop" taking the 8th and 13th spots on Melon, respectively. In addition, the album "Pieces," also ranked first on iTunes album charts in 13 countries.
Before its release, IU turned 30 this year. She revealed that "Pieces" features the self-written tracks that she didn't release during her 20s.
On the other hand, IU released her mini-album "Pieces" last December 29, 2021. Upon the album's release, the title song "Winter Sleep" topped the music charts, showing off her status as a "Solo Queen."
