IU Clarifies Her Adorable Mistake after Receiving "Digital Song Bonsang" at the 36th Golden Disc Awards
On Jan. 21, a new video titled "IU in the Saturday night" was uploaded to IU's YouTube channel. The 12-minute video shows behind-the-scene moments during the 36th Golden Disc Awards, which took place on Jan. 8.
This year's Golden Disc Awards was filled with stunning outfits, incredible performances, and of course, the awards ceremony. Among all of the glitz and glamour of the show, however, was one cute mistake IU made that caught fans' attention and is now making headlines. This mistake appeared like she was "lost" at the event, like what happened before at the 2014 Yeosu Music Festival.

After her speech for the Digital Song of the Year, IU bid farewell to the ceremony hosts. However, IU appears to have no idea what to do next when she stood behind the hosts on stage.
In a fan cam, IU can be seen looking confused with her situation as she looks around for additional instruction. Later on, she quietly went down the stage.
In the new video on IU's YouTube channel, the singer explained what happened during this incident at the 36th Golden Disc Awards which fans claimed she got "lost."

IU said that the staff instructed her to stand behind the hosts after her speech for the Digital Song of the Year and wait there until the show ends.
She continued that she thought she might look funny on the screen while standing behind the hosts, hence, she looked around and thought "Am I really doing it right?"
IU further said, "Also the hosts told me to stay there so, I'm pretty sure I'll look funny on the screen. I was afraid that I might look like IU who has regrets on the stage."

She went on to say that she later asked the staff whether she can leave the stage and when they said yes, that's when she came down from the stage.
IU then stressed that she didn't get lost at the 36th Golden Disc Awards, instead, she was just following the staff's instructions.

IU Wins 3 Awards at the 36th Golden Disc Awards
IU won a total of three awards at the 36th Golden Disc Awards, which took place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
IU was named the victor of Digital Song of the Year (Digital Daesang) with "Celebrity." Overall, the singer now has a total of three Digital Daesang, becoming the first artist in Golden Disc Awards history to achieve this feat.
In her acceptance speech, IU said that she feels like she has wrapped up the year (2021) well as she received another Digital Daesang. She then expressed her hope that each individual who was involved in the creation of "Celebrity" will hear the news of her winning the grand prize and be as happy as she is.
IU also managed to take home an Album Division Bonsang along with seven more artists like BTS, SEVENTEEN, NCT 127, ENHYPEN, TXT, Stray Kids, and NCT Dream. Finally, she won Digital Song of the Year.
