MelOn Reveals the Most Searched K-Pop Groups for January
On February 1, MelOn chart reveals the top ten list of the most searched K-pop groups in January. The list is divided into two categories; boy group and girl groups.
MelOn is an online music store and music streaming service in South Korea. It was developed by SK telecom and introduced in November 2004.
In 2009, it was transferred under the management of LOEN Entertainment (later becoming Kakao M then Kakao Entertainment). Then, in 2017, Kakao Entertainment merged MelOn and Kakao Music to have one music streaming service in South Korea.

MelOn is the largest music subscription site in South Korea. It has more than 28 million annual users. In particular, a survey of smartphone users found that MelOn is the most used application by Koreans.
The users of MelOn can stream and download music videos and also create customized ringtones.

2021 MelOn Year-End Chart, BTS and Brave Girls get the Highest-Charting Songs
Last January 25, MelOn revealed its year-end charts for 2021. They revealed the songs by boy and girl groups that ranked the highest in the previous year.
Landing on the top spot of MelOn's year-end chart for the highest-charting songs by a boy group in 2021 is the phenomenal superstars BTS with their hit full-English single, "Dynamite."
The worldwide hit "Dynamite" was first released in August 2020, it is the septet's first song recorded in the universal language.
Moreover, this is BTS' second top rank on MelOn's year-end chart since 2020. They are the only boy group to enter the chart for two consecutive years.
On the girl groups' category, Brave Girls' "Rollin" took the top spot as the highest-ranking song by a girl group.
Their song, "Rollin" was released initially in March 2017, it was back when the girl group still had five members. The song received moderate achievements on different music charts. It was produced and written by Chakun, Brave Brothers, and Two Champ.
