Girls' Generation Taeyeon Shares SM Staff Didn't Want "INVU" as Her Third Full Album's Title Track
On the afternoon of Feb. 14, Girls' Generation Taeyeon held a press conference to commemorate the release of her third full album "INVU" later today.
Taeyeon's "INVU" marks her first studio album in almost three years since "Purpose" came out in October 2019. It consists of a total of 13 songs including the title track "INVU," the pre-release single "Can't Control Myself" and her previous song "Weekend," which arrived last year.

During the press conference, Girls' Generation's main vocalist talked about her new album. She said that the album's theme is love. "Love is different in many ways, so the album would not be biased toward one side. In this album, people can find and listen to songs that will fit various love situations," she added.
Later on, Taeyeon tackled her album's title track "INVU." First, she revealed that she immediately fell in love with the song as soon as she heard its demo version for the first time. "I thought 'This is it. This is what I want as the title song," she continued.
However, it turned out that "INVU" was not the top choice of the SM employees to be the title track for Taeyeon's "INVU" album.

The solo queen shared, "It was a bit of an adventure in choosing the title song as the staff didn't choose 'INVU.' We had the situation wherein everyone said 'no' to it, while I alone said 'yes'."
Despite the disagreement, Girls' Generation Taeyeon said that she was confident that "INVU" will eventually become the title track. She continued that she is ready to persuade them in case the employees won't agree in the end.
Like what Taeyeon hoped for, "INVU" was ultimately selected as the title song. This house-based pop dance track features a soft and dreamy synth and captivating flute melody. The lyrics express one's envy toward a significant other who does not take love seriously.
Taeyeon's "INVU" album will officially drop later at 6 p.m. KST along with the music video for the title track.
