ENHYPEN Jake Looks Uncomfortable During Recent V Live Broadcast - Here's Why

On Friday, Feb. 18, Jake went on V Live to catch up with ENGENEs. Fans joined him during the stream, but not everyone was on the same side.

Some ENGENEs couldn't help but mention last month's controversy after ENHYPEN Jake was photographed wearing an "Allah" necklace.

This caused an uproar especially among Muslims because they saw this as the K-pop idol disrespecting Allah.

However, some ENGENEs already defended ENHYPEN Jake at the time, saying that it wasn't his fault because he only wore the clothes and accessories that the company or his stylist gave him.

The controversy eventually died down a bit until Friday's V Live stream. Yet again, several ENGENEs urged Jake to apologize for wearing the necklace.

Since his face can be seen onscreen, and he can also read all the comments live, ENGENEs noticed how uncomfortable Jake looked at one point.

During the live stream, one fan pointed out that ENHYPEN Jake also looked sad while reading the comments. 

Following the V Live stream, ENGENEs rallied around ENHYPEN Jake.

They defended him from critics and stressed that wearing the "Allah" necklace wasn't his fault.

ENHYPEN Jake's Start as Reality Show Contestant

Before debuting in his current K-pop group, he was first introduced as a contestant in "I-Land." After over three months on the show, Jake ranked third place by global votes and was named as one of the members of ENHYPEN.

In September 2021, ENHYPEN Jake made headlines after it was announced that he tested positive for COVID-19.

All the other members of the K-pop group also tested positive for COVID-19 at the time.

ENHYPEN members recovered from the virus days later.
