NMIXX and JYP Entertainment are facing yet another controversy since the K-pop group debuted on Feb. 22.
Read below to know what happened.
NMIXX Receives Mixed Reviews Following 'O.O' Release
At the time, the new K-pop group under JYPE dropped their album, "Ad Mare" alongside their debut track, "O.O," and the official music video for the song.
However, fans couldn't help but notice similarities between the "O.O" music video and other tracks from other groups like ENHYPEN, LOONA, ATEEZ, and aespa.
But this is not all. "O.O" was also met with a slew of criticisms because several listeners felt that the track was too much.
Others described the track as overwhelming so they had to listen to it multiple times before understanding the entire concept.
On his YouTube channel called "Form of Therapy," the producer also weighed in on the visuals for the "O.O" music video, and he wasn't impressed.
Producer didn't like the fact that the members of NMIXX weren't given enough time to shine as individuals in the music video.
He and the other K-pop fans weren't also thrilled with how NMIXX included an ad for Coca-Cola, which they said was a bold but unnecessary move.
NMIXX's 'O.O' Music Video Has 31 Million Views
But despite all the criticisms and backlashes that NMIXX and "O.O" received, there's no discounting the fact that the group also received some recognition.
Just after four days, the official music video for "O.O" already garnered 31 million views on YouTube.

NMIXX also surpassed 100,000 copies sold just two days following the release of "O.O."
What made this even more impressive was the fact that NMIXX did not have any promotional events.
Are NMIXX Criticisms Part of JYP Entertainment's Strategy?
With this, K-pop fans couldn't help but think that JYP Entertainment may have just used NMIXX as part of their ploy. The agency most likely knows that all comments - both good and bad - will somehow boost the views and number of listens for every song and music video that they would release.
So, even if NMIXX's "O.O" music video has similarities with other K-pop groups' songs and clips, JYPE couldn't care less. After all, the more fans watch and listen to "O.O" to look for these similarities, the higher their sales and views would be.
However, it is important to note that NMIXX fans and other K-pop supporters are just speculating on this possibility.
There is no indication that JYP Entertainment is intentionally using their artists in this light.
