It is time to celebrate and highlight the achievements of women!
K-Pop has seen some powerful and fiery hits from female artists that surely brought the heat. So, in honor of International Women's Month this year, we curated a list for you to listen to when you want to feel uplifted by some of K-Pop's best female artists.
From top fourth generation group ITZY to K-Pop queen Sunmi, here are some uplifting songs by female artists to add to your playlist!
1. Sunmi - 'Gashina'
Sometimes, we can't help but question ourselves when we go through a breakup. Sunmi's "Gashina" is about a love interesting leaving, but instead of questioning and blaming herself for the end of the relationship, she reminds herself that there is no need to hold on to them. We have to remember that we are special and will bloom once again.
2. ITZY - 'Wannabe'
Women are always forced and criticized to conform to society's standards. But ITZY has one thing to say: "I wanna be me"!
ITZY's track "Wannabe" is all about embracing and being yourself, and to not let others tell you how to live your life. It's also important for us to remember that we shouldn't let other people's worlds control our lives, and that we can be our unique selves freely.
3. LOONA - 'So What'
In their first girl crush concept, LOONA came in and brought the heat! Their song "So What," says just that: trusting yourself and breaking free from society's constraints. We should set our own standards and rules that's not defined by others to discover our true potential and who we really are.
4. HyunA - 'Lip & Hip'
HyunA is basically the queen of sexiness, and she's not afraid to show it through her songs! Women are always judged for the clothes they wear and are called with numerous names for being who they are.
But HyunA's track "Lip & Hip" shows that you can embrace your sexiness and be confident in who you are.
5. TWICE - 'Girls Like Us'
Women can be anything they want to be, and that's exactly what TWICE is telling us in their song "Girls Like Us." Written by member Jihyo, the song encourages women to dream what they want to dream, do what they want, and live their life the way they want to live it.
6. miss A - 'I Don't Need a Man'
The title of this miss A song basically says it all: women don't need a man to feel fulfilled!
miss A's "I Don't Need a Man" tells us that women can very much be independent and earn their own money, pay their own bills, and buy what they want using their hard-earned cash!
