Oh My Girl Binnie Reveals It Took Three Years to Change Her Stage Name
Recently, the members of Oh My Girl made a guest appearance on the March 30 broadcast of SBS Power FM's radio program, "Cultwo Show." During their guest appearance, member Binnie talked about having recently changed her stage name from Binnie to her real name Yubin (hereafter referred to as Yubin).
According to Yubin, she will begin using her real name with the promotions for their latest album, "Real Love."
"Beginning with the promotion of our latest album 'Real Love,' I will be using my real name Yubin as my stage name, and get rid of my previous stage name Binnie," Yubin said.
When she was asked why she wanted to start using her real name, Yubin responded, "The biggest reason why I wanted to start using my real name was simply because I love my name. I really like it when people call me by my real name."
Host Kim Tae Kyun then asked Yubin why she did not promote with the name Yubin right away when she made her debut. "Why didn't you just use Yubin to begin with then? And doesn't Binnie come from Yubin anyway?" Kim Tae Kyun asked.
To this, Yubin revealed that their label, WM Entertainment, had a policy. Because of that policy, Yubin had to promote as Binnie.

However, Yubin also revealed that she started convincing WM Entertainment to let her start promoting using her real name since three years ago, saying, "I thought for a long time and from three years ago, I had started talking to my label about it. I tried to convince them so that I could use my name Yubin instead."
Oh My Girl Yubin Feels Good Energy When Using Her Real Name
After three years and many tries, Yubin was granted permission to use her real name.
"I feel like I am getting good energy when people call me Yubin. I am really happy," the Oh My Girl member said.
The show's other host, Yoon Min Sang, then responded playfully, saying, "It has been seven years since you have made your debut, right? Is it because it has been so long, that you think you are able to do whatever you want?"

Yubin laughed and responded saying, "No, no. It is not like that at all. I guess I just wanted to show more sides to myself to the public and fans by changing my stage name."
Meanwhile, Oh My Girl made their comeback with their second studio album "Real Love" back on March 28.
