GOT7 Jackson Goes Candid With Mental Struggles He Faced as a K-Pop Idol
Recently on April 20, American media outlet "Entertainment Tonight" shared one of their latest interviews on their official Youtube channel. In this interview, GOT7 member Jackson made a guest appearance, where he talked about the hardships he faced following his fame in the entertainment industry.
During the interview, Jackson confessed to feeling his life was "like a loop" due to his continuously jam-packed schedules.
"For the past eight years, I have been living a commercial life. I've been [living on] schedules... Shows after shows. It's like a loop," Jackson said.
Jackson continued, "That's why after eight, nine years of that I got to a point where I mentally lost everything. Like I was lost, I didn't know what to do."
He went on to reveal that it came to a point where he did not talk to anyone about the stress he was dealing with. He chose to solve problems by himself.
"I was a person that whenever I deal with stress, I used to not talk to anybody because I feel like, 'Yo, I'm just gonna find a solution and just gonna solve it,'" Jackson said.
However, due to the friends around Jackson, they were able to insist on him talking about his struggles with them.

"It got to a point with the positive energy, the friends around me, they gave me that [energy]. They forced and they insist to sit me down and talk with me. It's the first time in my life I felt that connection, and that inspired me," the GOT7 member said.
Due to his friends' insistence, they were able to change Jackson and how he sees himself.
He said, "I'm like, 'Yeah. You know what? Whatever I had before, whoever I was before, screw that.' And now I'm the new me, and I'm allowing myself to accept it. That's magic."
Meanwhile, Jackson made his debut with GOT7 back in January 2014 under JYP Entertainment. Following the end of his contract with the label, he parted ways with JYP Entertainment in January 2021, along with the rest of his fellow GOT7 members. Since then, he has been focusing on his solo career.
