MAMAMOO Wheein Didn't Like Hwasa At First? Here's How They Became Closer
On the cable channel MBC Every1's "Tteokbokki Brothers," which aired on May 24, Wheein appeared as a special guest and shared never-been-heard stories from before.
Wheein, who was introduced as a member of Korea's one of the strongest vocal groups MAMAMOO, confessed her first impression of Hwasa.
During the broadcast, the "Make Me Happy" singer stated that she and Hwasa have been known as best friends since middle school. However, the female idol recalled a hilarious story with the latter about how she thought she could never be friends with her.
Wheein started:
"Hyejin (Hwasa) and I have been friends since middle school. When I first became in the same class with her, I didn't like (how) she sang in front of the locker even though she was not asked to. I thought I would never get close to her. I didn't want her because it feels like an attention-seeker."
On that day, the "Water Color" singer also narrated what happened during the self-introduction time when she and their youngest member met.
"I used a curling iron at home the day before, but I was late in the morning and went to school looking like that. I wore a scarf because it was winter. She (Hwasa) later said that she liked my wavy hair (the way I put it back) and the way I was able to wrap my scarf in one try."

Wheein went on and narrated this changed when the "Maria" singer approached her first after their self-introduction.
"I had a self-introduction time and Hyejin came to me during the break (seems like she took a liking to me) and said that she wants to get close to me. We gradually became closer by talking about our dreams of becoming a singer."
Talking about their dream of debuting as a singer, Wheein also recalled her trainee days with Hwasa.
"Hyejin and I were trainees for three and a half years. A lot of things were hard, but I remember (I) didn't have much money. I lived by splitting the allowance I received from my parents. But I never thought about giving up, instead, I thought about how to overcome it."
From initially not liking Hwasa, their relationship transformed into not being able to live without each other.
"There are times when we have arguments, disagreements when we worked together, but now thinking about it, if Hyejin and I don't have each other, I don't think we can endure it."
Meanwhile, Wheein and Hwasa have been known to be best friends since middle school. They dreamed the same dream, and they received great love while working in the group MAMAMOO together.
