Former BIGBANG Member Sentenced to 18 Months in Prison
It is expected that the Instagram account of former BIGBANG member Seungri, who used to be a celebrity and was cherished by the public, will be deleted soon.

Former BIGBANG member Seungri's (Lee Seung Hyun) Instagram account is scheduled to be deleted. The Supreme Court officially confirmed his sexual offense allegations on May 26. As a result, he was labeled a "sex offender" under the law.
On May 26, the Supreme Court's first division confirmed that Seungri, who was charged with habitual gambling and sexual violence crimes, was guilty. Like the second trial's ruling, Seungri was sentenced to prison for one year and six months.

Seungri was charged becaus he organized prostitutes for investors from Taiwan, Japan, and Hong Kong to obtain investment for clubs and financial investing enterprises between December 2015 and January 2016. He was also accused of using his own money to purchase sexual services.
Former BIGBANG Seungri's Instagram Expected to be Removed Soon
According to Instagram's policies, if internet users report the account of convicted sexual offenders, their accounts will be closed after checking the facts.

In line with this, JoyNews24 reported that countless internet users are reporting Seungri's Instagram account in the hopes that it will be deleted.
As of May 27, Seungri's Instagram account is still accessible. Seungri has eight million followers and he used the platform to express his love for VIPs with over 1,600 posts.

His last post, which announced his retirement from the entertainment industry, is still up on his account.
Previously, the Instagram account of singer Go Young Wook, who was imprisoned for sexually assaulting minors, was shut down after he was found guilty.

After the first trial, Seungri was supposed to be discharged from the military in September of last year. He was tried as a soldier by a higher court since he was suspended from discharge under the Military Service Act.
Seungri, who is still in a military jail, will be transferred to a private prison after being incorporated into a wartime labor force, as approved by the Supreme Court on May 26. Seungri's sentence will last until February 2023.
