aespa Announces June Comeback and Drops Pre-Release Track 'Illusion'
On June 1 KST, it was announced that four-piece girl group aespa is set to make their highly-awaited comeback with the release of their second mini album "Girls" later in July. This comes more than a year and a half after aespa dropped their first mini album "Savage" back in September 2021.
Ahead of their comeback, aespa's label SM Entertainment also announced that they have signed a partnership with Warner Records, in order to enter the global market, and promote, and distribute aespa's music and content in the United States.
In light of the announcement of their partnership, SM Entertainment also shared that they would be pre-releasing aespa's English-language single, "Life's Too Short," which the group first revealed from when they performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival back on April 23 of this year.
According to SM Entertainment, "Life's Too Short" will be pre-released on June 24 KST.
In addition to announcing their upcoming comeback, aespa also surprised fans, MY, when they unexpectedly released a never-before-heard song called "Illusion" and its official lyric video on Youtube.

According to the label, "Illusion" will also be part of aespa's new album "Girls," along with "Life's Too Short." It is a hip-hop dance song with a strong bass and kick sounds.
Meanwhile, aespa is the first K-Pop group to join Warner Records. "Girls" will reportedly contain a total of nine tracks, including their already-released singles "Black Mamba," "Forever," and "Dreams Come True." Other tracks included will be "Girls," "Lingo," and "ICU."
The new album will be released on July 8, and will be available for pre-order beginning June 2.

On the same day, Apple Music announced aespa as their next artist for "Up Next" in June, making the "Savage" singers the second Asian artist to be selected for a feature, following after labelmates NCT 127.

"Up Next" is Apple Music's global campaign which selects the most anticipated artists around the world. Artists who were featured include Billie Eilish, H.E.R, Conan Gray, and Pink Sweat$.
As part of their "Up Next" promotion, aespa will be releasing their album "Girls" through Apple Music, iTunes, and other major streaming platforms such as Spotify, MelOn, Genie, Flo, Spotify, QQ Music, KuGou Music, and Kuwo Music.
