The group's hiatus announcement drew mixed reactions from ARMYs, who are sad yet they understood the major decision to focus more on pursuing their solo careers.

Hours after the big announcement, member V took to the global fan community platform, Weverse, to dedicate an emotional letter to ARMYs regarding their decision.

On Weverse, V said:

"We are happy.

Although the seven of us were different in the things that we liked and disliked, along with our personalities, our thoughts about ARMY were the same and that is why we did 'Run! BTS.'

For the past 10 years, I was scared for always having to go up and move forward, and have always had to give myself up for the sake of the team, and behind that happiness were always tiring and difficult moments.

We are taking our first healthy steps in order to continue as BTS for a long time and I trust that ARMYs will this side of us too.

ARMY and BTS will not break as we are connected by a purple thread. I hope that we will see each other for a long time so that our color doesn't break and deepens even more.

We love ARMY so much."

Along with his emotional letter, V also shared a photo of his fellow members, excluding himself, as they pose with the strawberries they picked from a strawberry farm.
