On the first episode of Lee Young Ji's new YouTube show, "차린건 쥐뿔도 없지만," TXT Soobin sat down as the special guest. The show was filmed earlier prior to the group's comeback promotions for "Good Boy Gone Bad," released in May.

In the show, Lee Young Ji asked Soobin to talk casually with him, who is two years older than her. This is after the male idol said he wants to talk and film longer with her.

However, Soobin appeared hesitant and confessed:

"It's really hard for me to speak informally."

When asked why , the "Loser=Lover" singer opened up on the Big Hit culture. He revealed that the culture when he was a trainee gave him a hard time.

"A lot of things have disappeared now, and it's not Big Hit anymore, but when I first entered Big Hit (hereinafter HYBE), we have this so-called, strict (age) culture.

"We have this strict culture that even if you're just a year apart, you have to be really respectful to elders."

According to him, this strongly influenced his hesitation to use "banmal" (familiar speech).

TXT Soobin Shares He Had Doubts After His Debut Due To Personality

Moving on to the show, Soobin shared another thing that gave him a hard time aside from his experiences when he was a trainee.

The "Anti-Romantic" performer carefully stated:

"I don't want to say this with my face and mouth, but I look a little gentle and nice, right? I've never been angry or screamed in my 21 years."

Soobin and Young Ji then talked about having similar personalities, where the former stated that he couldn't say a word when he's with a quiet person, whereas he's excited to talk when a person is also chatty.

This type of personality gave Soobin quite a hard time. He doubted if he was fit to debut as a celebrity. He implied that this was because he tried to match (himself) to something that he's not.

"When I debuted, I think I have less presence, received less attention, and stand out lesser compared to other members. That's when I thought it was right for me to take on the role of getting along (with TXT).

I didn't have confidence in my skills and I wasn't ready to debut yet, but they made me debut. The position as a leader was actually too heavy and burdensome (for me)."

After hearing this, Young Ji comforted Soobin and said:

"But you're good. You're so good. When I watch a fancam or video, I can see what the person is trying to express. I felt like you were putting everything into it. I was really touched while watching it. You are really good, so I don't want you to think like that."

"I feel like you felt a lot of pressure being called 'BTS juniors,' but on top of that pressure, I just think that you are cool on your own. If you're not going to think like that, then some people will also think that way."
