We have seen countless talented singers and rappers in the K-Pop industry, and many of us just couldn't help but love and appreciate their voices for how amazing it is. However, while fans gush at their favorite idols' talents, some think otherwise - the idol themselves!
It's not rare to feel insecure about ourselves, and these idols have openly admitted to some of them. With that, here are five K-Pop idols who have admitted to disliking their own voice.
1. TXT Yeonjun
Back in 2021, TXT member Yeonjun revealed during an interview with Weverse Magazine that he initially didn't like his voice. Despite his striking vocals, Yeonjun came to a point where he questioned whether he should be a singer and how much he disliked his voice when he first learned to sing.
But fortunately, Yeonjun decided to continue being a singer after his label Big Hit Music emphasized the unique qualities of his voice that made it special. After hearing the label's encouragement, Yeonjun practiced a lot to show off that uniqueness and now puts his own spin on whatever he is singing.
2. Red Velvet Seulgi
In 2018, Red Velvet Seulgi starred in the JTBC4 program "Secret Sister." While on the show, Seulgi opened up about her insecurities when it came to her voice, as she thought she was the least good at singing during her trainee days which led her to experience a slump.
As she became more insecure, she began hating letting others hear her voice, which is why she only practiced her singing in empty practice rooms alone. Because of this, she even wondered if she could become a singer if she had difficulty singing and standing on stage. However, Seulgi shared that she doesn't think she can pursue another career, as singing is something she has always done since she was young.

3. TWICE Momo
TWICE Momo also admitted to being insecure with her voice. In "TWICE: Seize the Light," Momo opened up about her fear of singing as a trainee. Being more skilled in dancing, Momo admitted she feared taking vocal classes as she didn't think she was skilled enough for it.
She thought she was so bad at singing, that there were instances when she would cry in the training room and before vocal classes. Despite her struggles, Momo didn't stop with her training, and continued on improving herself and become a member of TWICE.
4. BTS Jimin
While many can agree that BTS Jimin has impeccable vocals, especially with his high notes, he has also admitted to feeling insecure with it. He even shared in BTS' 2018 documentary "Burn The Stage" that he gets oversensitive when his voice "fails" him. Fellow BTS member Jungkook even revealed that Jimin worked the hardest to improve his vocals during their trainee days.
Nevertheless, fans always make sure to shower Jimin with praises for his vocals and compliment him for his hard work. Now, Jimin is known as one of the most powerful vocalists in K-Pop!
5. BLACKPINK Lisa
In her interview with Rolling Stone, BLACKPINK's lead rapper and main dancer Lisa revealed she lost confidence as an artist between the years 2017 and 2018. This is because she usually didn't have any vocal lines in BLACKPINK's songs, but their producer Teddy wanted to change that despite Lisa believing that she is bad at singing.
It even came to a point where Lisa burst into tears during the recording of their album "Square Up" as she couldn't bring herself to sing and began thinking that she was bringing her team down. However, with Teddy's continuous encouragement, she became more self-confident.
