In a survey voted by fans in their 10s to 60s, K-pop groups BTS, BLACKPINK, Girls' Generation and more are hailed as the most popular groups that represent fandoms' generations by age.
On July 4, Elim.net, in collaboration with Now n Survey, released the results of a survey that aimed to determine the most popular groups. This is also held to understand the opinions of Koreans about K-pop idol groups receiving global attention.
The survey ran from June 22 to June 28, 2022, and a total of 1,052 members of the Now n Survey nationwide panel responded.
Popular K-pop idol groups that were selected as nominees were BDC, NCT, SMTOWN, LIGHTSUM, Lapillus, Red Velvet, LE SSERAFIM, MONSTA X, BTS, BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, Girls' Generation (SNSD), STAYC, Stray Kids, IVE, aespa, NMIXX, OMEGA X, CLASS:y, TEMPEST, TXT and fromis_9.

In particular, the results were divided into categories: gender and age.
Among men in their teens to 30s (MZ Generation), they prefer BLACKPINK (25.2%), BTS (21.4%), aespa (8.6%), Girls' Generation (6.7%) and Red Velvet (5.7%).
Among men in their 40s to 60s (Gen X and Baby Boomers), their favorite groups are BTS (35.1%), BLACKPINK (25.2%), Girls' Generation (14.2%), Red Velvet (6.3%) and aespa (5.2%).

In the women category for MZ Gen, K-pop fans in their 10s to 30s voted the groups BTS (34.2%), BLACKPINK (14.3%), Girls' Generation (9.3%), SEVENTEEN (5.9%) and IVE (4.6%).
In the women category for Gen X and Baby Boomers, those fans who were in their 40s to 60s fell in love with artists BTS (57.1%), BLACKPINK (13.8%), Girls' Generation (6.3%), Red Velvet (5.4%) and SEVENTEEN, NCT (2.5%).
Top 3 Most Popular K-pop Groups Regardless of Gender and Age
On the same day, the Now n Survey also released a chart of groups that received more than 5% of responses to this question from all age groups, including BTS, BLACKPINK and Girls' Generation.
Regardless of age and gender, the three groups dominated as the top 3 most popular K-pop groups.
BTS' popularity ranking by age group was the highest with 57.1% of women in their 40s-60s. It was followed by 35.1% of men in their 40s-60s, 34.2% of women in their 10s-30s, and 21.4% of men in their 10s-30s.
BLACKPINK's popularity ranking by age group was the highest at 25.2% in the male MZ generation and the male Gen X & Baby Boomers. They were followed by 14.3% in the female MZ Gen and 13.8% in the female Gen X & Baby Boomers.
Lastly, Girls' Generation's popularity ranking by age group was the highest with 14.2% in the male in their 40s-60s, followed by 9.3% in the female in their 10s-30s, 6.7% in the male MZ Gen, and 6.3% in the female Gen X and Baby Boomers.
