EXO Chen Makes First Airport Appearance Since Military Discharge- Here Are Fans' Reactions

EXO Chen has been out of the limelight since he began his mandatory military service in October 2020. He was officially discharged on April 25 this year after one year and six months of duty.

Since then, Chen hasn't made a public appearance yet, though he already released his first music after a long time- which is an original soundtrack for the ongoing K-drama "Doctor Lawyer," titled "An Unfamiliar Day."

On July 7, EXO Chen finally showed up to the public, and naturally he quickly got everyone's attention, especially EXO-Ls. The "Love Shot" singer was spotted at Incheon International Airport, where he will take a flight going to Europe.

On July 9 and 10, Kim Jongdae (Chen's real name) is set to perform at the HallyuPopFest 2022 in London at the OVO Arena Wembley, marking the K-pop music festival's first foray into the city.

Apart from Chen, the other K-pop artists taking the stage at the event are his bandmate KAI, ASTRO, MAMAMOO Hwasa, SF9, CRAVITY, EVERGLOW, ONEUS, and many more.

Because it has been more than a year since Jongdae was seen in public, EXO-Ls are overjoyed to see him once again. On Twitter, fans can't stop gushing over Chen, who smilingly greeted the press and entered the airport.

One EXO-L even specified EXO Chen's airport fashion for today. The fan said that the bracelet the idol was wearing is Ecrou de Cartier and costs 7.5K USD, his watch is Santos de Cartier and costs 7.5K USD as well, and his bag is a Dior men saddle bag and costs 3.4k USD.

As of 1 p.m. KST, two hashtags related to the EXO member are trending on Twitter, particularly "#CHEN" and "#JONGDAE," which have recorded over 51,000 tweets and 25,000 tweets, respectively. Check out some of EXO-L's tweets below:

EXO Chen Reveals How He Feels About Singing "Doctor Lawyer" OST

At the time his "Doctor Lawyer" OST "An Unfamiliar Day" was revealed, an interview with EXO Chen also came out.

First, Jongdae was asked to share how he feels about participating in the "Doctor Lawyer" OST. He answered, "I've always wanted to try various concepts. And I'm really looking forward to participating in the OST for the drama 'Doctor Lawyer.' And I think I'll be able to participate with a happy heart today."

In the middle of the talk, Chen was asked to introduce "An Unfamiliar Day." He said, "The loneliness that gets over in dramatic situations. The emotions and atmosphere that rise in the extreme situation of the main character."

The EXO member was then asked: "Is there any drama genre you would like to challenge to participate in as a soundtrack?" The idol replied, "I'm always open-minded. I'm always open to trying out various things like this. As I heard the song 'An Unfamiliar Day,' I suddenly thought I wanted to try the OST of a historical drama."
