OMEGA X Becomes Best-Selling K-pop Boy Group That Debuted in 2021
On July 7, Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Music Chart or Gaon Chart) revealed the rankings for the first half of 2022 (January to June).
According to Circle Chart's First Half Album Chart, two albums by OMEGA X made it to the top 100. The boy group's second EP "LOVE ME LIKE" - which came out on Jan. 5 - entered at No. 68 with 89,619 copies, and their first full album "Story Written in Music" - which arrived on June 15 - debuted at No. 94 with 59,207 copies.

Meanwhile, OMEGA X's debut album "VAMOS" has sold 18,395 copies so far, while the group's first single album "WHAT'S GOIN' ON" has sold 56,703 copies, as per this source.
Overall, OMEGA X's album sales as of the first half of 2022 have reached 223,924 copies, achieving the highest figure among the boy groups launched last year, and earning the title of the best selling K-pop boy group that debuted in 2021
OMEGA X, which recently made a comeback with their first full album "Story Written in Music," is showing the best performance yet since their debut, surpassing 100,000 copies in just the first week on the Hanteo Chart. This is the first time in their career that they attained the mark on the platform, meaning "Story Written in Music" is their top-selling album to date.

Apart from recording an impressive album sales figure, OMEGA X's first full album landed on iTunes Album charts in different countries. It particularly entered at No. 158 in the United States and reached No. 1 in India, Israel, and Norway.
"Story Written in Music" also secured the No. 69 spot on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart on June 15.
Simultaneously, the album's title track "PLAY DUMB" skyrocketed to the top of iTunes Song charts in India and Norway, and landed inside the top 100 in Thailand, Australia, and Canada.
Meanwhile, besides "PLAY DUMB," OMEGA X's first full album "Storry Written in Music" contains 12 other tracks including "Venus," "All About U," "Dance With U," and "Airplane," among others.

OMEGA X to Debut in Japan With First Mini-Album
In other news, OMEGA X is gearing up to make their debut in Japan with their first mini-album titled "Stand Up!." The group will debut under Tokuma Shoten, which is famous for publishing music, video games, anime, movies, manga, magazines, and books.
Reportedly, "Stand Up!" will feature the title song of the same name. The mini-album is set for release on Aug. 24.

At present, OMEGA X is promoting their latest song "PLAY DUMB" on various music shows in South Korea, such as MBC's "Music Core," SBS MTV's "The Show," and KBS's "Music Bank."
"PLAY DUMB" meshes funky groove with "high-teen" rock to create a bright and lively song. Member Jaehan took part in the songwriting process and composition of this track. "PLAY DUMB" talks about meeting someone who makes you feel out of the ordinary.
