BTS Jimin Accused of Buying His Instagram and Spotify Followers Due to This
BTS has been active in the industry since 2013. Over the past nine years, the seven-piece boy group bas built up an impressive reputation with their success all around the world. With BTS becoming a household name, it's not a surprise that each of the group's members are also popular individually and has a big following.
Recently on July 13, member Jimin, who currently boasts more than 39 million followers on Instagram, was accused of buying followers on the social media platform.
The netizen who raised the allegations explained that Jimin's follower count on Instagram had increased exponentially back at the start of July despite not having any individual promotions. In addition, they note that Jimin hasn't been active on Instagram just like the rest of his fellow BTS members.

The netizen had noticed that the "Yet to Come" singer would gain around 50,000 followers daily in the past. But beginning in July, he started gaining more than 150,000 followers on average each day.
They added that back in June, Jimin was the member who gained the least amount of followers despite the group's hectic activities and promotions.
The netizen said, "[Jimin] had the lowest increase in number of followers among the group [members] in the month of June, when they had vitied the White House, had a comeback, music promotions, and even the 9th anniversary Festa."
They continued, "He didn't do any activities beginning on July 1 and is not active [on Instagram], but his number of new followers is increasing."
Aside from Instagram, the netizen also accused the idol of buying followers on Spotify after they noticed his ranking on the platform rose, and that there is an odd change in his ranking when he suddenly gains and loses a lot of followers.
This led the netizen to suspect Jimin is buying followers on the platform as well, as they believe Jimin lost a lot of followers due to Spotify occasionally removing bot accounts.

They added that Jimin is the member who has the most fluctuation in their number of Spotify followers, making the netizen sure that Jimin's follower count is being manipulated.
Netizens Defend Jimin From Accusations
The Nate Pann post garnered more than 98,300 views, with many netizens coming to Jimin's defense. Netizens had criticized the the netizen who made the accusations for saying nonsense, and even shut down their allegations.
