What is 'Boys Planet'? Broadcast Date Revealed
Mnet's "Boys Planet" is the male spinoff for "Girls Planet 999," the survival program that created the girl group Kep1er. The first season aired in 2021, and selected nine idol aspirants to be part of a multinational team, comprised of Korean, Japanese and Chinese members.
Following their debut on January 3 with their debut album, "FIRST IMPACT," the group immediately rose to become fourth-generation representative rookie.
With the project's success, Mnet embarks on the selection of members for a boy group. With the broadcast scheduled for the first half of next year, the final debut group is expected to be launched in 2023.
Boys Planet 2022: Who Can Join, Audition Dates
In regards to who is qualified to join Mnet's new survival program, any male born before January 1, 2010 regardless of nationality can apply for the project.
Any male idol aspirant who has a current agency or a history of debuting as a singer in the past is also welcome to join.
The audition period already started on June 27, 2022 (Monday) and will end on August 21 (Sunday) at 11:59 p.m. KST.

As of July 30, "Boys Planet," is continuously supported by boys dreaming to join the global boy group from about 63 countries and regions around the world, including the United States, Britain, France, and Germany, as well as East Asia.
In addition, more than 105 agencies around the world, including Korea, have confirmed their support.
With 175 countries and regions participating in the global vote during the broadcast of "Girls Planet 999," which was introduced last year, it recorded 129.73 million cumulative votes, the largest number of audition programs, drawing expectations from individual applicants and entertainment workers.
Mnet said:
"The number of applicants for 'Boys Planet' has increased significantly compared to 'Girls Planet' due to the global popularity of 'Girls Planet' and the success of the debut group Kep1er."
Mnet Shares Tips for Audition Applicants
While boys around the world continue to support Mnet's survival audition "Boys Planet" for global boy groups, Mnet's production team has unveiled a great tip for audition applicants.
With about 15 days left until the deadline for recruiting applicants for "Boys Planet," Mnet's production team mentioned what could be helpful for the applicants.
"Boys Planet" emphasized that the applicant's potential and star quality are important, saying:
"The applicant's skills are important, but we also evaluate their charm, talent, and passion."
Therefore, Mnet officials emphasized that the door to passing can be widened with a self-introduction video that utilizes his own charm.
In addition, since it is a program aimed at debuting as a K-pop idol, it is important for global applicants to appeal to their singing/dancing/rap skills, as well as their passion for K-pop and eagerness to debut.
