Red Velvet Seulgi made waves on various online portals after her recent photo was compared to her pre-debut visuals. Here's what happened.
Red Velvet Seulgi Praised For Visuals Following THIS Photo
On September 11, Red Velvet Seulgi smiled at fans and Korean media as she left for New York through Incheon International Airport Terminal 3 in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon. She will attend New York Fashion Week on September 13, along with NCT Dream Jeno and SM Rookies Shohei and Eunseok.
The "Monster" singer will work together with fashion designer Peter Do as a special appearance from SM Entertainment.
Prior to her flight, she brightly greeted fans and media waiting for her arrival at the airport and had a photo op.
As soon as her photos were shared online, the female idol immediately gained attention for her gorgeous visuals.
On Facebook, "Idol Issue" also posted her photo, comparing it to her pre-debut teaser image. The page wrote the caption:
"SEULGI of Red Velvet, who feels like she's back to her debut days before her solo debut.
Comparing the photos, the "Queendom" singer only looked more mature in her recent appearance than in her pre-debut photos released in 2013, but her youthful aura with minimal makeup didn't change at all. Instead, she has more glow in her latest snap.
Eventually, the post gained huge reactions, and a lot of K-pop fans, especially ReVeluvs, agreed that the female idol didn't age at all.
Some of the comments says:
- "It's been a while."
- "Why do I think I'm the only one who's getting older?"
- "Seulgi is really pretty!"
- "We have a pre-debut photo before Red Velvet. We also have a pre-debut photo before Seulgi solo."
- "She didn't age at all."
Red Velvet Seulgi To Debut As Soloist in October
Meanwhile, Seulgi will finally make her debut as a soloist. An official from SM Entertainment confirmed on September 6:
"Seulgi is preparing for her first solo album with the goal of releasing it in October. We ask for a lot of your attention."
Following the news, this raised expectations for Seulgi's solo debut in eight years. She will become the group's third member to become a soloist, and this will also mark her fourth debut as an idol following Red Velvet, IRENE&SEULGI sub-unit and GOT the beat.
Fans' attention is focused on what kind of image the idol will show in her solo endeavor, as she has showcased her skills as the main dancer and vocalist of the group.
Red Velvet debuted in 2014 with their digital single "Happiness" and is loved by domestic and foreign fans.
Since debut, Red Velvet has been releasing several hit songs, including "Power Up," "Peek-A-Boo," "Dumb Dumb," "Russian Roulette," "Red Flavor," "Psycho," "Rookie," "Ice Cream Cake," "Zimzalabim," "Queendom," and many more.
Red Velvet released its new mini-album "The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm" in March.
