NCT Jeno Mistaken as a BTS Member by German Photographer
Recently on September 12 local time, Vogue organized their fashion week event, Vogue World: New York, which was held in celebration of the highly-popular magazine's 130th anniversary.
With Vogue's status in the fashion industry, as well as its huge milestone, it is to be expected that a lot of celebrities and big names in the industry are in attendance at the event. Among the celebrities who attended Vogue's event was NCT member Jeno.
Jeno attended the event wearing an outfit designed by New York-based fashion designer Peter Do, who also designed fellow member Johnny's outfit for his attendance at the 2022 Met Gala.
With a big event such as Vogue's, it can also be expected that Jeno would meet several celebrities and key figures.

Among the people that Jeno met was renowned German photographer Ellen von Unwerth. The photographer was able to meet Jeno while on the red carpet, and like what anyone would do when meeting a celebrity, she took a photo with the NCT member.
Ellen von Unwerth then took to her social media to share the photo of the two of them. However, netizens were quick to notice something amiss in her post when she added a caption.
Rather than tagging Jeno or NCT's Instagram account, she instead tagged BTS' official account, adding that she was excited to meet one of its members.
On her post, she said, "So excited to meet a member of BTS."
Ellen von Unwerth Apologizes After Mistaking Jeno as a BTS Member
Unsurprisingly, netizens were quick to point out their mistake and express their frustration. While many pointed out that it could have been a mistake, others thought that she should have known who she was taking a photo with.
Some have even called the German photographer racist, which links to the stereotype that westerners have that all Asian people look the same, and assumed that Jeno was a member of BTS because he was a K-pop idol.

After thousands of fans corrected her, Ellen von Unwerth ended up deleting the post, but shared the same photo again and finally tagged Jeno's Instagram account.
She also apologized, saying, "Sorry, so great to meet Jeno."
Following that, she did not say anything more on the matter. However, fans have been bombarding her Instagram account to criticize the photographer for her mistake.
