Former VIXX Member Hongbin Responds to Reports of Him Facing Drug Charges
Over the years, numerous K-pop idols have become embroiled in drug scandals. While some idols were mistakenly misidentified, others had their careers ruined or nearly destroyed after being confirmed to have taken part in drug use.
Recently, there have been new reports of a former male idol having been arrested for drug use.
On November 4, it was reported that the Nowon Police Station located in Seoul had arrested a former male idol member at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul on that day. According to reports, the former idol was arrested on the charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act after reportedly being found using an illegal methamphetamine.
While no name was given on who the idol could be, it is said that the former male idol had made his debut back in 2012. Following his idol career, the former idol reportedly has been working as an internet BJ (broadcast jockey) or streamer since his group's disbandment.
Following the news of an idol being caught in drug charges, netizens began trying to pinpoint who this idol could be. Interestingly, netizens began speculating that the identity of the idol is Hongbin, a former member of boy group VIXX.
However, this seems to be a case of another idol getting misidentified and embroiled in drug allegations. While VIXX did make their debut in 2012, the group has not disbanded at all. In fact, Hongbin only withdrew from the group as a member.

To prevent any more misunderstanding on the issue, Hongbin himself took to his Twitch channel, an interactive live-streaming platform centered on video games, to address the rumors and deny his involvement in drugs.
On his Twitch, Hongbin stated, "I am popular today. Reporters are trash. I can speak with confidence that I am a victim [of drug allegations]. I stream for 11 hours each day on average. When would I have the time to do drugs?"
As of this writing, there have been no further updates regarding the idol who was arrested.
Hongbin's Latest Activities

Following his military service, Hongbin decided to work as a Twitch streamer full-time, and has since then been making content on the platform and interacting with fans.
