TWICE Momo topped the list of Japanese celebrities with the most SNS followers!
On February 4, the Korean media outlet Sports Kyunghyang confirmed that TWICE Momo reached 10 million Instagram followers, just nine months after opening a personal account in May last year.
In particular, amid rumors of disbandment in 2022, TWICE lambasted speculations after announcing the start of the group's new era by opening their personal Instagram, simultaneously.
As it was the first time that the nonet members opened their respective social media accounts, it immediately received high attention from global fans.
TWICE members also saw a surge in the number of followers due to active uploads and communication at the same time as the opening.
After nine months, TWICE proved their unrelenting popularity in their eight-year of career after creating a new record on Instagram.
Momo, especially, showed off her impact and influence among Japanese idols and celebrities by reaching 10 million followers, making her the most followed celebrity in Japan.
The "Talk that Talk" singer broke the record initially set by Japanese actress, comedienne and fashion designer Naomi Watanabe who has 9.91 million Instagram followers. Momo took away her seat with more 9.94 million followers.
Meanwhile, TWICE members Sana and Mina also confirmed TWICE's still popularity by ranking in the top 10 celebrities with the most followers.

Meanwhile, Momo isn't just cementing her impact on social media but as well as in the music and fashion scene.
In January, the female idol confirmed she will be featured in the February 2023 issue of the fashion magazine Cosmopolitan Korea by releasing her preview photos.
During the pictorial, it was reported that Momo was praised by the staff at the scene for her visuals, where she wore a long dress like a mermaid and showed off an elegant goddess-like figure.
In a subsequent interview, Momo then hinted about TWICE's 12th mini-album, which will be released in March, saying:
"It will come out in a powerful way that we haven't shown so far. It's a powerful choreography for charismatic songs. We are preparing hard to show it properly."
She added:
"It will be a fun stage with TWICE's style in the feeling that I'm good at."
TWICE will release their new mini-album "READY TO BE" and make a comeback on March 10. The new album is already drawing keen attention ahead of its official release as it is the first time in about seven months that TWICE will release a new album since their 11th mini-album "BETWEEN 1&2" on August 26 last year.
Before their return, TWICE first dropped its pre-released English single, "MOONLIGHT SUNRISE" on January 20, raising fans' anticipation even more for their album.
