Did SNSD Taeyeon Hint at Got the beat's Disbandment? Here's What She Said

On February 6, the "SM Avengers" girl group GOT the beat attended their first fan signing event organized by Yes24 and SMTOWN&Store.

In particular, the activity is part of their promotion following the release of their first mini-album, "Stamp On It," on January 16.

On this day then, the septet comprised of BoA, SNSD Taeyeon & Hyoyeon, Red Velvet Seulgi & Wendy as well as aespa Karina & Winter had their time communicating with fans that they weren't able to meet due to the pandemic.

The members went on by sharing their future plans outside GOT the beat after their "Stamp On It" activities. Hyoyeon particularly said that aespa comprised of Winter and Karina will be having their solo concert in February.

The SNSD member also spoiled BoA's concert in March, in which the official announcement is yet to be released.

Just then, Taeyeon apparently hinted at the future of the GOT the beat unit. A fan who attended the event narrated:

"At the end of the fan signing event, Taeyeon quietly but firmly said, 'GOT the beat's first and last signing event is over.' LOL. I think it's probably a rare event to see again."

With this, fans claimed that Taeyeon is hinting at the disbandment of the unit. However, it wasn't clarified if she was only implying that it is their "last" event as a group or "last" fansign for their music release.

But with the poor performance and result of their mini-album in music charts, fans believe that the unit will dissolve and the members will once again focus on their original groups and respective schedules.

GOT is a hybrid group with a rotational system. The members who are female artists under SM Entertainment are expected to vary based on the concept and theme of the song.

GOT the beat is the first unit introduced under this project; thus, they were set to disband eventually or suspend activities once a new unit was created.

Following them, it is expected that more sub-units composing different members will be introduced, but fans have doubts if this will continue following SM's announcement of a new era called SM 3.0.

Meanwhile, GOT Beat released its first mini album "Stamp On It" on January 16 on various music sites at 6 p.m. KST. Three weeks after its release, the official MV only amassed 8.2 million views contrary to their first single, "Step Back," which garnered 146 million views a year after its release.
