'Most Chill Fandom' Shawols Burst in Anger After SM Did THIS to SHINee

After 15 years of "keeping their cool," SHINee's fandom can't help but burst in anger after SM Entertainment announced THIS.

SM Entertainment Announces SHINee's 15th Debut Anniversary Fan Meeting Details

SHINee's back!

On April 24, SM Entertainment announced that the "Princes of K-pop" SHINee will finally return to the music scene as a whole after about two years through a fan meeting, following Taemin's military discharge!

This gathering is more significant to fans, especially to Shawols (SHINee fandom) since the quintet, hereinafter quartet, will also celebrate their 15th debut anniversary.

Since then, SM Entertainment announced details about the event and revealed that the group will hold the "2023 SHINee FANMEETING 'Everyday is SHINee DAY': [Piece of SHINe]" at the 7th hall of KINTEX's 2nd exhibition hall in Ilsan at 5 p.m. KST on May 27.

In addition, ticket reservations for the fan meeting will be available from 8 p.m. KST on May 2 through the internet reservation site Yes24, and general reservations will be held from 8 p.m. KST on the 4th, which is expected to attract high attention from fans.

Shawols Send Protest Truck to SM After SHINee Fan Meeting's Venue Announced + Poor Management

As soon as the venue became known among the fandom, especially Korean Shawols, they weren't able to hold back.

One of the reasons was due to the fact that the venue's layout will have seats with no elevations; thus, it is expected that fans in the back row won't be able to see the members that well. Despite this, all seats can be bought at the same price of 99,000 Korean won (about $73.87), making it unfair.

What is outrageous for fans is that the company forwarded the responsibility to them and "warned" them to choose their seats carefully because refunds will be impossible in case of view restrictions.

Shawols felt that the company is deceiving them, after initially announcing that there will be an online live broadcast and later on deleting it without notice.

As this is a huge moment for Shawols and SHINee who will meet as a whole for the first time in about four years and eight months since SHINee's fan meeting, "SHINee SPECIAL PARTY - THE SHINING," held in September 2018, fans also felt that the company is "mistreating" and "downgrading" the group by giving them such a small venue despite the fact that the group can sell out an arena during concerts.

As a result, Shawols finally burst in anger and claimed that they won't keep still anymore.

In the K-pop scene, Shawols are known as the "most chill and well-behaved fandom" due to their peaceful way of solving problems.

But this time, Shawols declared "war" against SM Entertainment and started the boycott by sending protest trucks asking to change the venue, apologizing for deceiving fans and trying to cover the situation using its artists.

Global fans also joined the protest by calling the attention of the company via social media platforms including Twitter where they shared their frustrations and sentiments.
