BIGBANG Taeyang has been featured in a pictorial with Vogue Singapore, where he flaunted his dashing visuals and answered several interview questions.

BIGBANG Taeyang Reveals Inspiration For Album 'Down To Earth'
On April 30, Taeyang was featured in Vogue Singapore's pictorial, where he was interviewed about his personal life and artistry.
In the interview, it started with the Taeyang's busy life since his last activity in the music industry was in 2017. Afterwards, the "EYES, NOSE, LIPS" hitmaker got married to actress Min Hyo Rin, followed by his military enlistment.
When Taeyang returned to K-pop, the artist had the opportunity to try out different things in terms of musicality. It was followed by the group's return with "Still Life." Afterwards, Taeyang then revealed the inspiration behind his newest album "Down To Earth."
The artist revealed that he was mostly influenced by music from the '80s and '90's. With this, Taeyang also added that he was inspired by the sun, which is also an alternate term for his name. He revealed that sunsets were his source of comfort during his military service.

"I consider Korean music's golden era to be placed around the '80s to the '90s, and with this influence, I tried to convey this period's musical era, which I grew up listening to."
"Due to my daily schedules, I wasn't able to get any inspiration or listen to music. I also went through tough points."
"Beautiful sunsets started to comfort me on the times I was busy with my daily activities. I began to feel solace in it. It was something I looked forward to everyday, as I reflected on my life in a different viewpoint."
"I felt that the sun was similar to my life situation, since it doesn't greet the morning, but the night instead. I saw myself in it, since I too, was taking on difficult circumstances."
Taeyang then added how he manages to restart when it comes to mindset and musicality, as he related it to the album's title.
"Just like any human being, I could attempt to start anew and go back to my original individuality. With a new mindset, I could genuinely feel 'down to earth' and produce the album every step of the way."
BIGBANG Taeyang Adapts to Music Industry's Fast-Paced Environment
Taeyang then shared his progress of adapting into the music industry. The "VIBE" singer explained how he was able to adjust, as well as the pressure embedded on the decision to explore new things.
"When I was in the army, I became exposed to third and fourth generation K-pop idols through other soldiers, and I eventually learned that their generation was different from me in terms of culture."
"I also became intrigued on how the present generation approached things. From there, I understood the different platforms and trends."
"I adapted to the idea of doing dance challenges and other activities in new platforms, but there was pressure to try new things. When I actually tried, it was easier than I expected."
Moreover, Taeyang was also asked about what advice he could give to those who are aspiring artists. The artist relayed that being an inspiration for others can go beyond words and advice.
"Being able to inspire others through my music, behavior, and how I approach my life and artistry, are worth than a thousand words."
"I want to be able to create new memories with fans with this album."
