Mengo Yokoyari, the manga illustrator of the popular 2023 anime "Oshi no Ko," was mesmerized and gave a shout-out to Jang Wonyoung after her viral "Idol Challenge."

On July 2, Mengo Yokoyari took to Twitter and wrote, "Wonyoung," in a post uploaded to his personal account.

Apparently, Mengo was impressed when a fan posted a video of Jang Wonyoung doing the "idol challenge," trending among K-pop and J-pop idols.

In this dance craze, the artist imitates the main character Hoshino Ai's choreography along with the song, YOASABI's "Idol."

"Oshi no Ko" is an anime that shows the Japanese idol industry market and is considered the best animation released through the OTT platform, Netflix.

Since then, the music video of the opening OST "Idol" by YOASABI has created numerous challenges around the world, especially among idols themselves, enjoying unprecedented popularity as it exceeded 200 million views in less than two months after its release.

Many K-pop idols, including IVE Leeseo and Liz, former LOONA Chuu, LE SSERAFIM Hong Eunchae, and Billlie Tsuki, drew attention by presenting the "Oshi no Ko/Idol" challenge.

However, among K-pop idols who tried the challenge on TikTok, Jang Wonyoung's version is spreading online like wildfire, earning rave reviews.

Although Wonyoung didn't do the trend officially on TikTok and only did it through fancon and fansign events, her videos are earning hundreds of thousands of views.

According to people, Hoshino Ai, a character imitated by Jang Wonyoung, is perfect for the idol due to their uncanny similarities in terms of visuals, skills, charms, and experiences.

To explain this, Ai is a character who became so popular that she was called the "ultimate idol," thanks to her charms that could attract people's attention instinctively by showing a remarkable talent for idols in many ways.

Just like her, Jang Wonyoung is an idol who's not lacking in any way, leading her to serve as the center of IZ*ONE and then the center of her current group, IVE.

People praised the idol on social media, saying:
