As BLACKPINK's contract renewal with YG Entertainment nears, media outlets and officials continue to update about the possibility of this member leaving the company.
BLACKPINK Lisa to Leave YG?
According to the exclusive coverage of the Korean media outlet Munhwa Ilbo, BLACKPINK Lisa's contract renewal with YG is "unclear," and she's most likely to leave the agency.
Prior to their contract expiration in August, it has been initially reported that Lisa has been seeking to renew her contract with the company but hadn't reached an agreement.

Similar to her, the company has been hoping for a "dramatic" contract renewal with the member prior to Lisa's contract expiration.
However, along the process, insiders claimed that the gap and differences between the two sides' terms and conditions have gotten larger.
As a result, a Chinese agency that requested anonymity, exposed the current situation between YG and Lisa, hinting at the possibility of the member leaving the company.
"We have been coordinating YG and Lisa's schedules to see if she can appear in (our show), but recently, (YG) told us it is difficult to discuss the schedule after August due to uncertainty in renewing the contract with Lisa."
On July 12, YG Entertainment responded to the claim.
"It is because of the tour and personal schedule, and it has nothing to do with the (re)contract."
Although YG did not provide a clear position on the renewal of the contract, it can be said that Lisa's recent schedule with the Chinese side is confirmed.
BLACKPINK Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé's Contract Negotiation Going 'Smoothly'
Other than Lisa, Munhwa Ilbo's coverage, stated that YG Entertainment's contract negotiation with the rest of BLACKPINK's members (Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé) is proceeding relatively smoothly. An industry official said:
"We decided to narrow the gap between our positions and accompany them after renewing our contract."
What will happen to BLACKPINK then?
The official added that the direction of BLACKPINK's activities in the future is expected to be decided after their renewal is officially announced.
"Whether Lisa will serve as a member of BLACKPINK even after her contract with YG finally fails will inevitably have a significant impact on the group's direction in the future."
BLACKPINK's, which debuted on August 8, 2016, contract will expire in August.
They are now known to be global stars, and their "value" has risen tremendously.
Currently, they are on a world tour to perform with 1.5 million cumulative spectators. Including album sales, music revenue, and other activities such as filming advertisements, BLACKPINK creates astronomical added value.
However, industry officials agree that YG made a bold bet in consideration of the symbolism that it would gain while maintaining BLACKPINK and the market capitalization as a listed company.
