KISS OF LIFE Idol Julie Caught Using Racial Slur — Watch the Viral Clip

In a recent development, K-Pop idol Julie, a member of the rising group KISS OF LIFE, is facing scrutiny over her past use of a racial slur, which has resurfaced in the public eye. The controversy intensified when a netizen seemingly called her out during a live music show livestream.

Footage Exposes Julie's Use of a Racial Slur

Following her debut with KISS OF LIFE, Julie and her group have garnered significant attention for their exceptional performances and releases. Notably, their concept aligns well with the maturity of the adult members.

However, an old video clip featuring Julie from her time as a trainee at YG Entertainment has resurfaced, capturing her rapping and uttering the offensive racial slur. Although this clip had been previously addressed several years ago, it gained renewed traction in light of Julie's debut with KISS OF LIFE, with various online platforms recirculating the video.

While some were already aware of this controversy, it regained prominence after the group's recent appearance on the popular music show Simply K-Pop, broadcasted live and with viewers watching remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During one of the show's segments, as the camera panned across the members during their ending fairies, an audible remark from an audience member could be heard, demanding an apology from Julie for her previous use of the racial slur.

It should be noted that the video in question appears to have been edited, with the shared version omitting the phrase uttered over the group's performance. Consequently, reactions to the video ranged from finding it amusing to hoping that it would raise awareness and prompt the idol to issue an apology.
