SM Entertainment has finally revealed more exciting details about their new boy group!
On July 31, SM Entertainment released an official statement regarding their new boy group RIIZE and their plans for debut.
According to the agency, RIIZE will comprise a total of seven members, who will make their highly anticipated debut this September. Their group name RIIZE is a combination of the words "RISE" and "REALIZE."

For its meaning, RIIZE will always strive to "rise" in terms of growth and "realize" their dreams together. RIIZE will also exhibit the musical genre of "emotional pop," which will require them to put their personal experiences on their tracks.
SM Entertainment added how each of the members will showcase all-rounder skills and top-notch visuals. The agency also stated that RIIZE will work their way on a new "real-time odyssey" as one act, with the aim of making history in the music scene.

"RIIZE will contain a total of seven first-rate members, who all possess excellent skills and visual prowess.
Each of the members have their own unique personalities and strengths, and with these aspects, they are planning to embark on a new adventure based off on their 'real-time odyssey,' and write their own history in the music industry."

RIIZE's debut will mark SM Entertainment's first new K-pop group act since aespa's introduction in the year 2020. RIIZE will also launch their official Instagram account on August 1, and will present each of the members to the public ahead of their September debut.
The presence of RIIZE was first reported on July 12, when Korean media news outlet Sports Chosun announced an upcoming September boy group debut from SM Entertainment. According to sources, the group will include two former NCT members Sungchan and Shotaro.

Moreover, the seven-membered lineup will also be joined by trainees Eunseok and Seunghan, who are both from SM Rookies. As for their music activities, it was reported that RIIZE was in the process of filming their debut MV at Los Angeles, California.
In other news, SM announced the withdrawal of Sungchan and Shotaro from NCT on May 24. The agency elaborated how the two idols will be closing their chapter with NCT and will proceed to re-debut on their upcoming boy group.
