On August 2, Seoul Central District Court handed down its judgment of sexually assaulting employee at Karaoke Bar, slapping Mr. A with a over 2,314 USD fine and a mandatory 40-hour sexual assault treatment program.
Mr. A's rise to fame began as he debuted as a singer in the 2000s, but he later made a name for himself as a successful CEO of Company B, boasting an impressive 60 billion won in sales last year.
Court Finds CEO Guilty of Shocking Molestation at Sleazy Karaoke Bar
The shocking incident took place in July 2019 when Mr. A allegedly molested Mr. B, an employee of his company, at an underground karaoke bar near Gundae Station in Seoul.
The court revealed disturbing details of the assault, where Mr. A reportedly grabbed, hugged, and even punched Mr. B against his will.
Despite denying any wrongdoing, Mr. A was unable to escape the court's judgment.
While the victim received $7,760 USD as a deposit, the court ruled that Mr. A's guilt was undeniable, leading to the final verdict of a fine and a treatment program.
“Considering the relationship between the defendant and the victim, the guilt is poor. He said he would be fined and ordered to complete a sexual assault treatment program. Mr. A was dissatisfied with the result of the first trial and filed an appeal on the 22nd of last month.”
—Kim Chang-mo, Chief Judge Of 14th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court
