In a candid interview following the release of their first mini-album, Two Rabbits, the members of MAMAMOO+ shared their genuine emotions regarding the departure of former group members Hwasa and Wheein from their agency.
With the departure of two members, the group expressed their concerns about the impact on their future music releases. Moonbyul and Solar, the remaining members in their agency, revealed that they fear their ability to release albums as frequently as before may be affected.
Solar's Heartfelt Message: Emphasizing the Significance of Teamwork
Solar, speaking from her heart, emphasized the significance of being part of a team and expressed her desire for MAMAMOO to grow stronger together. While she acknowledged the allure of individual activities, Solar highlighted the value she places on their collective identity as a group.
"As a leader, I feel a sense of responsibility, and it's a bit bittersweet to see everyone focusing on their individual pursuits. Yet, given the current situation, we can't change things, so we want to give our best as a group," shared Solar.
A Reunion to Remember
Despite the changes and the natural bittersweetness surrounding solo endeavors, the bond between the MAMAMOO members remains strong. Their recent reunion for a special performance on the tvN variety show Dancing Queens on the Road showcased the depth of their friendship and admiration for one another.
Moonbyul, reflecting on the performance, revealed that it was Hwasa's idea to come together for the show. Witnessing her close friend's dedication and hard work as the youngest member on stage deeply touched her.
"Dancing Queens on the Road was Hwasa's idea. It felt different to be on stage, and seeing Hwasa take her place on the show as the youngest member moved me and made me think, 'Look at her trying to be cool,'" said Moonbyul.
While the path of MAMAMOO has undergone significant changes with members embarking on their solo careers in new agencies, the remaining members show unwavering support and love for their former groupmates. The future holds new challenges and opportunities, and MAMAMOO+ is determined to navigate this chapter with unity and strength.
