Following Sunny's departure from SM, the concerns and true feelings of the idol about having no solo album among SNSD members were re-examined after her past interview resurfaced.
SNSD Sunny Confesses She Has Low Confidence in Her Vocals
Recently, Sunny's past remarks revealing her concerns and true feelings about her solo and idol career resurfaced after she left SM Entertainment.
In particular, Sunny who has been with the company for 16 years prior to her departure cemented her status as a member of "Nation's Girl Group" SNSD. However, throughout those years, the idol never released any official solo song or debuted as a soloist, unlike her co-members.

Initially, there were speculations that she was not rushing or she just didn't want to do it, but her past interview says otherwise.
In November 2020, the singer appeared on tvN's "On & Off" along with BoA, where Sunny confessed her concerns and true feelings. Notably, this happened amid SNSD and her hiatus.
On this day, Sunny invited BoA to her house for dinner and had a sincere conversation while drinking champagne. BoA then asked Sunny about her plan as a singer, saying:
"Are you going to continue singing?"
Sunny brought up her hidden worries and replied:
"It always remains like homework for me. In terms of music, I don't know what I like, what I should do, or what I'm good at."
She then confessed her low confidence in her vocal skills.
"We've always been a team. What I did in the team was always a role like 'MSG'. It was what I wanted for the team's color. I wanted more artificial seasoning. But the vocal director was always disappointed in me when I just sang it and said, 'Why did I get so bored?"
Sunny continued:
"This is why I'm losing confidence. I'm saying this because it's my voice, but I then thought, 'Oh, my voice is boring,' so I felt that what I want and what I can do were not compatible. I've always lost confidence."
SNSD Sunny Reveals Pressure of Not Having Solo Album
In response, BoA encouraged the "Gee" singer and praised her in front of MCs.
"I thought it would be nice if Sunny could continue singing. As a vocalist, I thought that Sunny has a lot of charms and I thought she was so attractive when I heard her true voice without pretending not to be herself."
In the studio, Sunny confessed the pressure she's feeling about having no solo album, saying:
"I'm the only member of Girls' Generation who doesn't have a solo album so far. It feels like I didn't do my vacation homework, but I feel like I'm being chased because the school opening day keeps coming."
Meanwhile, Sunny announced the expiration of her exclusive contract with SM through her social network service on August 8 and left the company after 16 years. It is expected that she will continue to work as an SNSD member despite this.
The "Mr. Mr" singer also hinted at her future plans following her departure.
"Now I'm going to take courage and see myself from a different perspective in a new environment. I will share a lot of good news in the future."
