'Unanswered Questions' To Clarify 'Biased' Broadcast on FIFTY FIFTY & ATTRAKT Controversy

On August 23rd, a representative from the "Unanswered Questions" current affairs program disclosed to Munhwa Ilbo that they are in the process of formulating an official stance regarding the ongoing controversy.

The day prior, an official from SBS's public relations department had shared with Munhwa Ilbo that, with regards to the allegations of biased broadcasting, they were not able to provide a statement at that juncture.

The official noted, "Internal deliberations are likely underway, and preparations are being made to issue an official position."

Additionally, the SBS representative emphasized, "Hence, the public relations department remains in a state of anticipation for the final decision."

"We are calling for stringent disciplinary measures to be taken against the individual responsible for overseeing the 'I want to know' program, as they have failed in meeting their public obligations in broadcasting."

The unfolding saga began on the 19th when "Unanswered Questions" aired a special episode centered around the contractual legal battle involving the girl group FIFTY FIFTY, their management company Attrakt, and the third-party organization The Givers.

A broadcasting insider noted, "The production team is undoubtedly grappling with how best to address this issue."

Subsequent to the broadcast, viewers were quick to voice their grievances, alleging that the program had displayed partiality toward FIFTY FIFTY.

The insider went on to comment, stating, "However, a crucial 'golden time' window is available for delivering clarifications. Considering the enthusiastic involvement of online users, failing to offer a rational and satisfactory explanation promptly could..."

Significantly, even industry bodies such as the Korea Management Federation Corporation and the Korea Entertainment Producer's Association expressed their concerns to SBS, urging action against the producers of "Unanswered Questions" for what they deemed a failure to uphold the principles of fairness and impartiality in their broadcast.

Meanwhile,FIFTY FIFTY's fans fear that the girl group is on the brink of being blacklisted from the industry for their hit track "Cupid" due to allegations of a "forged signature" involving Ahn Sung Il.
