Netizens were stirred by the outrageous amount OKPOP shared, and many mentioned that HYBE should've gone with the procedure of cease and desist instead since OKPOP is a group with a small fanbase.

  • "HYBE is overreacting because 1 million is crazy."
  • "You're kidding? $1,500,000?"

Meanwhile, some examined the situation's veracity and mentioned that OKPOP is essentially a satirical group. They claimed that artists parodying other artists should have protection against copyright. Others claimed that these were marketing tactics from the group.

  • "Doesn't satire and comedy protect you against copyright? I'm confused how they won, especially in America."
  • "The comment section is insane. Can't you guys see they are messing with you?"
  • "It's not real. The court pictures are off of YouTube."
  • "I'm still not sure that this isn't a marketing tactic."
