Amid discussion of whether BLACKPINK will renew their contracts with YG Entertainment or not, the final decision is speculated to be revealed in mid-November.
BLACKPINK's Final Decision About Contract Renewal With YG Predicted to Be in Mid-November
It is expected that whether global K-pop superstar BLACKPINK will renew their contracts with YG Entertainment will be unleashed in mid-November.
Although YG is yet to confirm the exact date, media and insiders pointed out that the time will coincide with the release of YG's 3rd quarter report.

Every quarter, YG has been disclosing the current status of its artists' exclusive contracts through an electronic public system quarterly report, semi-annual report and business report.
Through this, it was possible to check whether YG and its artists' exclusive contracts were over or maintained.
In particular, YG was adamant about giving further updates about its contract renewal process with BLACKPINK. This is the same case with BIGBANG's G-Dragon, who didn't leave YG for 18 years until 2023.
Initially, the media and fans were able to infer that the icon didn't renew his contract with YG because his name was omitted from its quarterly report released in March.
When the rumors arose, YG immediately acknowledged it and confirmed that the company and GD were no longer in an exclusive contractual relationship.
However, YG attested that they will still cooperate with G-Dragon through a separate contract when he resumes his music activities.
In the semi-annual report released in August, YG has maintained exclusive contracts with BLACKPINK, AKMU, WINNER, and TREASURE as of the end of the second quarter.
With this, attention is focusing on whether BLACKPINK's contract will change in its third-quarter report.
BLACKPINK Recent Status
BLACKPINK, comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé celebrated their 7th anniversary in August. However, even after a long time has passed, the news of their contract renewal has still not been delivered.
For this reason, there are various rumors that the members will certainly leave YG Entertainment. In fact, there are speculations that Lisa even refused a down payment of 50 billion won from the company for a foreign label, as well as Jennie and Jisoo were planning to establish respective one-man agencies.
When the rumor sparks, YG has only one response, consistently, saying:
"The contract renewal is still under discussion."
Why is BLACKPINK's contract renewal a big deal?
BLACKPINK, which has been active for more than 7 years has global influence and the whole industry is very interested in what kind of direction will the group follow.
Since the members also amassed individual popularity on the way, there are concerns if the quartet will end up having a disbandment to focus on their personal activities, or if they will maintain loyalty to each other by remaining in the group and company.
If some of the members leave YG, it will be harder to see a full comeback, thus some BLINKs are hoping that they will leave all at once. However, there are also concerns about whether they will sign with the same company if they leave YG altogether.
If they are scattered in different agencies, the chances are that they will rarely have group activities, so there are also supporters hoping to remain in YG Entertainment.
