Ahead of aespa's comeback, the girl group was accused of plagiarizing LE SSERAFIM after netizens noticed "similarities" between "Drama" and "ANTIFRAGILE."

Ahead of their comeback, aespa has been teasing fans with concept teaser photos and MV teaser clips. On October 30, they dropped the mood sampler, which contains the overall atmosphere of the album in advance.
Indeed, the video signaled the dramatic transformation of aespa with an even darker aura!
In the clip, members Karina, Giselle, Winter, and NingNing amplified the curiosity of K-pop fans especially (MYs) with the meaningful narration. The video also features the conceptual and sophisticated beauty of the girls in the setting of an abandoned building.
Did aespa Copy LE SSERAFIM? FEARNOTs Point Out Similarities Between 'Drama' & 'ANTIFRAGILE'
Amid the excitement, an unnecessary "drama" started between MYs (aespa fandom) and FEARNOTs (LE SSERAFIM fandom) after the latter noticed the similarities between aespa's upcoming release and "ANTIFRAGILE," released in 2022.
Some of the comments said:
- "This is so LE SSERAFIM-coded."
- "SM taking notes from HYBE again is insane."
- "SM literally copy-pasted LE SSERAFIM's ANTIFRAGILE."
- "Reminds me of LE SSERAFIM."
- "If you do it with narration, isn't it LE SSERAFIM?"
- "aespa saw LE SSERAFIM's aesthetics in an abandoned building and decided to shamelessly copy it. "
Apparently, some FEARNOTs claimed that aespa's narration in the mood sampler was "started" by LE SSERAFIM, and aespa's teaser photos in the abandoned building also shared an uncanny resemblance with the latter's concept.
MYs then immediately defended aespa and argued that LE SSERAFIM isn't the first girl group to do a narration in MV teasers. SM also then pointed out that f(x), NCT, and more have been doing it way back.
Regarding the "abandoned building" with "fire" concept, a lot of SM artists have been doing it as well, taking SNSD and SHINee as examples.
On the other hand, aespa's fourth mini-album, "Drama," will be released on various music sites at 2 p.m. KST on November 10, and will also be released as an album on the same day.
