On October 31, JTBC reported that the 38th Golden Disc Awards will be held on January 6, 2024, at the Jakarta International Stadium, in Indonesia. Moreover, the show organizers also followed up with a brief statement.
The Golden Disc Awards committee shared its enthusiasm regarding the ceremony and how the impact of K-pop is continuously making waves across the international music market. With the ongoing influence of K-pop, the committee decided to host the awards show in Jakarta.

"K-pop's influence across the global market is gradually expanding and there are many requests from Asian fans who want to meet their favorite K-pop artists.
In line with this trend, we decided to hold the event in Jakarta to produce more opportunities for diverse music fans, both domestic and foreign, to interact through K-pop."
According to sources, the Jakarta International Stadium has a seating capacity of an estimated 80,000 people. The large venue will also be the location for the upcoming U-17 World Cup which is scheduled to start on November 10.
With the forthcoming event in place, this will mark the Golden Disc Awards' fifth time to hold the event abroad, following its Japan ceremony with the 26th Golden Disc Awards, alongside the 27th in Malaysia, 29th in China, and its 37th in Thailand.

In other news, the 37th Golden Disc Awards was held on January 7, 2023, at the Rajamangala National Stadium, in Bangkok, Thailand.

In a separate year-end award show, the 2023 Melon Music Awards also announced its event details on October 19. Korean news outlets reported that the ceremony will be held on December 2, at the INSPIRE Arena in Yeongjongdo, Incheon.
