'Wish'? NCT's Last Sub-Unit's Rumored Name Gains Mixed Reactions
On November 1, NCTzens (NCT fandom) gathered on social media platforms to discuss the alleged name of NCT's last sub-unit.
Earlier, there was a rumor that SM Entertainment's new boy group would be named NCT Wish, after the company applied for its trademark on October 27.

On this day, Kyobo Securities mentioned NCT Wish's release in the fourth quarter of 2023, leaving fans to only wait for SM Entertainment's statement to make it official.
When this reached the knowledge of K-pop fans especially NCTzens, some approved it and expressed delight that the name is somehow connected to other sub-unit names, Dream (NCT Dream) and Vision (WayV).
A lot of the comments showed support for the name NCT Wish.
- "I'm tuned in."
- "I'll take it!"
- "Woah, it's good."
- "This somehow reminds me of 'Make a Wish,' and here SM literally making NCT Wish."
- "It's actually really really cute."
- "It has a positive vibe to it."
- "I like it, to be honest."
On the flip side, there are a lot of netters and fans who shook their heads after hearing the name and wrote:

- "NCT Wish, are we getting NCT Amazon, and NCT Temu as well?"
- "I can already hear, 'You got NCT from Wish,' sht during fanwars and I'm sick of it."

- "I would prefer NCT LASTART. It emphasized their beginning as a group as the last sub-unit of NCT."
- "Wait, I thought their name was NCT Zone?"
- "Here I am thinking their permanent name was NCT New Team."
About NCT NEW TEAM: Debut Date, Members, More!
Initially known as NCT Tokyo, NCT New Team is the last sub-unit of the large-scale global group NCT. Their rumored name is said to be NCT Wish.
In particular, the pre-debut group will be officially launched at the end of 2023/early 2024, consisting of six members Sion, Riku, Yushi, Daeyoung, Ryo and Sakuya. They were originally seven, but Jungmin decided to withdraw from the lineup and return as a trainee due to health concerns.
All members were selected through SM's survival audition show, "NCT Universe: LASTART" aired in July.
Meanwhile, ahead of their official debut, the NEW TEAM started their pre-debut activities, such as releasing their Japanese single album, "Hands Up" on October 19. It consists of a title track with the same name and a second track, "We Go!"
This year, a total of 24 pre-debut tours through, "NCT Universe: LASTART Pre-Debut Tour" were also held in nine Japanese cities, including Osaka and Fukuoka, in addition to its Tokyo Line Cube Shibuya performance.
