SM Entertainment has joined forces with a British production company to launch a new global boy group.

SM Entertainment Joins Forces with MOON&BACK to Launch Global Boy Group
On November 16, SM Entertainment held a ceremony that honored a strategic agreement between the agency and British production company MOON&BACK, in Seoul.
According to sources, the strategic agreement would be SM's plan to begin a large development and investment in global music, as well as the artist IP or intellectual property rights.
SM's side included the attendance of CEO Jang Cheol Hyuk, Chief Business Officer (CBO) Jang Yoon Joong, Chief A&R Officer (CAO) Lee Sung Soo, and Creative Director Kangta.
Meanwhile, MOON&BACK's side consisted of nine executives, with Music Director Ben Karter, and co-CEOs Dawn Airey, Nigel Hall, and Russ Lindsay being present at the event.
MOON&BACK is located in London, England, and is known for being associated with numerous TV reality shows. Nigel Hall, one of the three co-founders who attended the event, has worked on popular shows such as "Britain's Got Talent," and "The X Factor."
Sources also state that the casting of the boy group's potential members will be spearheaded by MOON&BACK. Meanwhile, SM Entertainment will be in charge of providing aid on how the K-pop industry makes choreography, songs, and music videos.
MOON&BACK will air the production process of the upcoming boy group through a six-part television series. The show will begin in 2024's second half and will be broadcasted in Korea, and other countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom.
Russ Lindsay, one of the co-CEOs present, also expressed enthusiasm for SM Entertainment's involvement in the production, which will complement the program and give entertaining content for all music fans around the globe.

We are confident that SM's creative prowess combined with M&B's seasoned experience in global entertainment and curation will produce a TV series that will excite many music lovers around the world."
SM's Chief Business Officer Jang Yoon Joong also voiced out anticipation for the partnership and expansion of K-pop's growth on a global scale. This venture also marks the first time SM will go across the European market for a project.

SM Entertainment will play an important role in boosting the K-pop industry's global growth by expanding its reach to major markets such as North America, South America, and Europe, through its undisputed production capabilities and global network for K-pop."
