YG Entertainment Stocks Tumble Following Establishment of BLACKPINK Jennie's Personal Label

Previously, it was announced that BLACKPINK member Jennie established her own label for her personal activities. Since the announcement, YG Entertainment's stocks witnessed a decline in the market.

YG Entertainment Sees Fall in Stocks Following Opening of BLACKPINK Jennie's Personal Label

On Tuesday, December 26, YG Entertainment's shares witnessed a sharp decline in the early hours of the market. The fall is believed to be influenced by the establishment of BLACKPINK member Jennie's personal label, ODDATELIER (OA).

As of 10:08 AM of December 26, YG Entertainment's stocks are at KRW 51,000, which is approximately $39 USD. This is a staggering 3.65% (or KRW 1,900) decrease from the previous trading day.

On December 24, which was the previous trading day, Jennie announced the establishment of her own company, OA. The idol launched the label's official social media accounts and shared messages in both Korean and English to announce the opening of the label.

From the new year onwards, Jennie will be pursuing solo activities under her own company.

However, the idol still has contractual ties to YG Entertainment. On December 6, YG Entertainment announced that all four members of BLACKPINK re-signed with the company for group activities.

The announcement stated that the members and the label will continue to make even more dazzling contributions to the global music scene as representatives of the Hallyu wave.

As YG Entertainment is only managing BLACKPINK as a group and Jennie has already established her own agency, many are wondering if the other three members will follow in her footsteps and establish their own label.

Alternatively, they may seek other agencies to handle their solo endeavors.

The fact that YG Entertainment shares weakened after Jennie announced the establishment of her own label has once again proven the immense impact of the "SOLO" songstress. If the other members sign with new agencies or establish their own labels, it is suspected YG Entertainment stocks will continue to tumble.
